So I've been trying to make youtube vids for a while and I can't find a good editing software. I have Premiere Pro and IMovie on my mac but whenever I transfer the files the video recording slows down.
I've tried Hitfilm 4 Express and lightworks on my PC but they both don't work. Please help me.

I personally use Camtasia Studio 8. Its cheap, easy to use but hard to master.

Maybe if you specifically list what problems you are having with the above software we could try to help you.

Lightworks doesn't seem to launch and in Hitfilm 4 the recording will go up by five seconds instead of one and it makes a constant popping sound

when I made a few videos 2-3 years ago I was using Sony Vegas, this was a really intuitive software with some cool functions.
If you want some really professional videos I can only recommend Adobe After Effects, but it might be a bit over the top for youtube videos.

I don't know how good those work on Mac tho

What exactly do you mean about the video recording slowing down? Are you referring to playback on YouTube, or actually recording the video on your machine?

Also, where are you transferring the files to/from?

I really love Sony Vegas Pro (Any versions starting since 9). It's easy to learn and wide spread on Internet with any tutorials and effect packs. Been using it for ages and loving it more and more. I also have used other Editors what just have not been so good from my view as the Sony Vegas.

The audio will stay fine but when I play it from the Mac and the editing software the visuals will lag a lot

You should have an option to set the frame rate as you import it, or even make sure that the framerate of the new project matches the frame rate that you recorded the video in. It's been a while, but Premier is pretty darn flexible.

I would always choose Adobe Premiere. It has a really clean look, a huge amount of features and the ability to import projects from/into Photoshop/Aftereffects/etc .

The problems you have sound like some wrong settings.

You should be fine with premiere if you use the right settings,I've been using it for about a year now and it's really nice but I do like how Final Cut Pro X saves projects and video files, mid editing I could just force quit and delete the original files and when I open Final Cut the project would still be there with the original video files

I agree with a lot of other people, i have used a fair amount of editing programs but with the right settings nothing beats Premier Pro for me.

Premiere is pretty much the best but I've always been using different versions of Sony Vegas over the years. It's just what I'm most familiar with after using it for so long.
