Is fan control possible on the Razer Blade 15 under Linux (Ubuntu 18.04)

  1. After a few hours tinkering with the Razer Blade 15 using Ubuntu I still can't seem to figure out how to control the fans. I understand that the EC chip is responsible for controlling the fan speeds, but the stock fan curve is atrocious to say the least. Anyone had success controlling the fan from within Linux? The next thing I would attempt is reverse engineering to figure out what synapse does when you change the fan slider, but the time investment is daunting.

  2. Sorry, I never had luck adjusting the fan speed. I did find whatever default controls are in the Blade are pretty good and my laptop never went over 80C (as long as I don't block the vents). If you find anything, please post back here though.

I am seeing entries in my kernel.log for "Package temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled", and have noticed that when under load the fans don't spin up anywhere near as high as they do under Windows. Any updates on fan control or info on how to ensure the fans kick up when needed?
