As we all have noticed, the 18" active TB3 cable the core uses makes it rather difficult to place the laptop around. You have to get quite creative. I'm interested to see what setups other people have made with their cores.

No replies yet. I guess not many people have gotten their core yet haha. They seem to be out of stock quite a bit. Hopefully more people can get them soon and post their setups. I'm also interested in seeing :)

I have mine but it is in a state of crazy disarray on my desk. I haven't really found a good way to organize it on the desk due to the VERY short USB C cable.

I'm thinking I may make bank if I create a nice stand for the Core that the laptop fits under that would organize it really nice.

    Time to start designing!

This is my setup! Running 2 27" Samsung curved screens with a 1070 gtx! I love it just wish I could play around more with my setup as well.

It seems like a lot of people are talking about the short cable problem :\ do you think they can come out with a longer cable? I know the longer ones bump it down to 20GB/s, but hopefully someone can come out with some better cables in the near future, because not everyone can get their core super close to their laptop

The cable is silly-short. It isn't even long enough if you wanted to have the laptop to the left of the core LOL.

They make macbook stands like this, I might try making one.

I know I have plants taking over my desk. I need to do some pruning again. (I have like a whole garden even veggies in the window opposite my desk and everything grows way too fast lol.)

Nice clean looking setup! I like it! do you always use your blade with it closed? dont prefer having the secondary laptop monitor to use?

Here's my setup. Just got the core connected today. Was a little finicky with the 1080 drivers.

I started using it open after realizing that my refresh rate issues were being caused by having the screen closed. Not just big solidworks models but just dragging notepad windows around was causing noticeable stutter, and the machine would occasionally crash mainly in UT but also just whenever. With the laptop screen open it performs as it should even though I do everything on the external monitor. I would rather keep it closed to keep dust off of my screen and keyboard, but oh well. I'll try it again closed if they do a driver update.

Also, windows tends to forget how to wake up with the mouse sometimes requiring the laptop to be opened to push the power button. :/

Still needs some work, looking to grab a Malm desk from Ikea, a headphone stand for the Man O War that currently sits on the Core when not in use (can see it in the picture), some LED strips in the back, and a DXRacer or some other brand of chair. Maybe Maxnomic. Monitor is 1080P, looking to ether grab an ultra wide or a secondary 1080P monitor. Core has a 1070 Superclocked in it.

    Awesome! Thanks!
I'm guessing both would be high enough to straddle the Core like you did? :D
Although I have the Blade 14 so I may have to turn the Core the other way...

Yup either will be high enough :)
