Hi all, I keep having issues with my Razer Blade.

    1. The darn WiFi keeps disconnecting from my comcast router. Does anyone know if this is due to compatibility issues or something? I've tried updating the drivers as well as a factory reset.

    2. There's this small super bright spot in the middle of my screen. I thought it was a scratch or something but It's not on the actual screen. Seems like I can only see it when the background is white though. I've tried updating the display drivers as well but to no avail. :^(

Is anyone else having these issues or is it just me? Thanks guys!

    1. There are many complaints about the wifi card used in the razer blade 14 (intel ac wireless 7260). You might want to upgrade your drivers. Or heck, upgrade your router. I am on comcast and the provided router was terrible, I just purchased my own and am no longer pay them the renting fee.
    2. I also have bright spots on my display, but I think it is fine. In fact I have 4 of them. They have never really bothered me once, unless yours is incredibly noticeable I'd return the machine.

WiFi: I had a cheap $20 TP link for wireless. I frequently lost connections to it. I recently got a new $100 Buffalo DD-WRT router. I've had no more problems with dropping yet. If you want to test it on the cheap, try other people's routers that you know. Also, I'm only using Linux, so YMMV.

Bright spots: Sounds like stuck/dead pixel(s). There's a few dead pixel tests on youtube you can try to help you spot and possibly repair a stuck/dead pixel.

Yeah I'm thinking it's my Comcast router. It's a piece of crap ahah. As for the screen, I've seen videos about using suction cups to remove them, but I don't even know if things like that would work.

I don't think its a good idea for you to mess with your screen like that. (If you were referring to the ones where they remove the screen panel).
Can you take a picture of your bright spot for me?

Jesus I can't get a decent picture. I circled it to hopefully provide some clarification. It's honestly barely noticable, but it's just so annoying to have to stare at it when I have a white backdrop and the laptop is at a high viewing angle. I agree with those techniques, doesn't seem smart to do it to this machine.

Tbh, I have at least 4 of those, but mine are alot bigger. I think you should consider yourself fortunate and move on. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

  8. hmmm yea i think the issue overall would be your router. The dot in the screen is very likely to be a damaged pixel.

  10. I also have this problem, I have two spots on the screen. They are not so easily noticeable, but when you notice them, your eyes keep looking at them :D

The bright spots on your screen are backlight bleed and they are the result of damage of the coating on the back of the display, usually. It cannot be fixed without changing the display. I would return it as it's a defect-- my RB 2015 had them as well and they pissed me off every single time I looked at them on my $2700 USD laptop.

  12. Well they appeared recently and the problem is I have bought the laptop in US, but I live in EU, so I doubt I could return it for RMA:slightly_sad: :slightly_sad:

You may or may not be able to, and you might have to pay shipping and insurance on the item. However, it certainly can't hurt to at least ask Razer Customer Support about it and just see what they have to say. :)

  14. Well it is the second unit I get with this issue.....so....I am thinking for just changing my next laptop for something else.....:slightly_sad:
