The classic Firefly looks bigger but the mouse is not as advanced as the 2015 Mamba so I hesitate

As mamba user, I might be biased. Mamba 2016 + firefly for me.
    Things to note
    1. mamba 2016 is using laser sensor. Mamba hyperflux using optical sensors. (I prefer laser)
    2. On wireless mode, Mamba 2016 using its own battery while mamba hyperflux using power from the mouse mat. Unusable on wireless mode without the mouse mat. (I like to use my mouse not just on the table, but also using it from a further distance, e.g. controlling it from my bed. lol)
    3. Mamba 2016 is not yet supported on synapse 3. Maybe in the future. But hyperflux is supported for now. (I am still waiting for it to be supported)

You are pretty biased, since everyone hates the laser in the mamba, so optical is actually better and more percise, anyhow I would recommend if you want the wireless technology go for the new mamba, if not then go will the old one, its mostly personal preference. But if you want a mamba hybrid go for a Lancehead TE or Lancehead wireless
