I have a feature request for the new Razer phone, since this is a gaming phone I think this phone should have more features by comparing this phone to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 this doesn't have much more features to it other than a larger battery, 144Hz Display, and of course Razer branding. Looking at the Samsung phone it has a OLED screen, headphone jack, better camera, more security options, Samsung Dex and the S Pen with a lot of software enhancements with it. I'm not sure if the 144Hz display makes much sense right now yes everything is more smooth but we're not playing shooters on a phone... But I think a larger color spectrum would be better at the moment because most games don't even support 144Hz.

Which brings me to this at $888.55 CAD the phone needs a lot more hardware and software wise to be called a flagship (maybe next phone could have a chroma logo on the back?). But this is the thing that I wanted to suggest now since Razer is starting out with a new phone they should add their own desktop interface like Samsung. Why would I be asking that? This is a gaming phone not a productivity phone! Well look at NVIDIA and their new Geforce Now for PC and Mac so far. If Razer were to make their own linux desktop and get Geforce Now supported then that would be the ultimate gaming phone then. This could even change everything just have everything run in the cloud and razer could drop their laptops and have laptop like insert for the phone like this.

Calm down man, it’s still new. Remember Switch, at first Lauch, a lot of poeple throw critics on it, lack of software, tegra that already outdated, but now with a lot of developers made a bunch games for it poeple are enjoying their Switch. Let’s hope for next 2 or 3 months Razer manage also to work with developers to maximizing game experience on it. Btw It’s not gaming phone, at least for now, they’re also still saying phone for gamers. I like the image though a phone that has extended features for mobile works on laptop. I hope they’ll introduce softwares that could controll at least Razers laptops, like Apple and Xiaomi do with their mobile systems.

Well say man. This is a great start but to me razer took the easy way out. They brought nextbit robin, used the same design and framework, upgraded the hardware and call it razer phone. I don’t see how this is a gaming phone compare to razer edge (gaming tablet. Lot of work ahead and hope we can see a real gaming phone next year.

Jesus every time something new comes out someone always jumps on "but what next?" Can we not live in the moment anymore?

All I have to say is the people who say 'I'll wait for the next one' are incredibly naive.

There cannot be a 2nd if nobody buys the 1st. So put your money where your mouth is and buy it.

I think u should wait sometime because company main focus now is to make razer phone's software awesome...

Also for ideas i think they should add a custom chip to support some of the game which are for PC and suitable for Mobile gaming because every flagship will have the Snapdragon 845 chip

I think you're forgetting besides the biggest things the screen and battery is it has 2gb more ram than the samsung note 8 all for over $200 less than the note 8. and speck wise it has the same camera and I believe razer has already said they are updateing the software. and as for the games they are working with several game developers to make games optomised for the better display, and no games are optomised for this because no ones takein the leap razer has and made this crazy good display.

Very well said mate. I'm a firm believer in supporting new projects and products like a the RP. Razer are the only phone company to actually do something new and different this past few years. They made a big statement with their first phone and I think most people who own the RP will agree it doesn't feel like a first gen product, it's incredibly well refined.

Razer have my 100% support with their mobile products, such a phenomenal start.

after reading and watching much of the reviews, but unfortunately not hold the phone myself (yet), here are some of the options I believe should made the cut for the next iteration of the phone :
    - better waterproofing
    - chroma logo for sure
    - regarding the Sony Z5 (a phone i own and love) i would ditch the grill for a complete glass front with notches (bigger than on the Z5) to allow the speakers to show off as they do today
    - better battery management through software and hardware if possible
    - Refine the 120Hz screen
    - trying to get the cameras better AND flush with the back of the phone. The extruding cameras are enough.
    - keep the rectangular shape.
    - Optional : add NFC

Yeah but look at Essential that looked like a great phone at launch but...

    1. It wasn't competitively priced

    2. Camera was horrible at launch people had to find a work around to Google's camera software

    3. Essential should have waited longer before the launch and waited until everything was refined.

Razer should have done the same thing instead of setting a deadline and just launching it like that should have waited until there were more games and refined the camera and other stuff that may have had problems. And just because we are talking about Razer with a lot more reputation than Essential while they were just starting out they might just be able to keep their price tag they have now.
I kind of agree with that one I think they should have changed the design just a little bit but honestly I really do like the Nextbit design. If you look at the phone's durability test from JerryRigEverything I think they should change how the screen fits in there he can still pop it out slightly but this is a really good start look at the original Nextbit robin that thing cracked in half easily.

Most of what you say is accruate and appropriate.
However, working in the IT world, which is somehow related to razer, i can understand why they launched the phone as it is, much like tesla launch its vehicule even if they are not completely finished.

For some years now there this new approach to software development called agility and its main function is to bring a mvp (minimun viable product) to customers as soon as possible. This is why you see much of kickstarter or indiegogo working prototypes. Big companies take the same paths to allow them to be quicker to the market, and make a name. I acknowledge that in the phone industry, there is no need, no more, to be quicker on the market. However this allowed Razer and its marketing to find the niche of the 120Hz screen market. Even if they were not the first, they were the first big player in it. And see the result in reviews, beside the camera, almost everything else is very good. And waiting 3-4 months after release for a software patch is pretty good too.

same goes for essential. it looks like it was what EA or Ubisoft were doing with their games release quick fix later, but this hurted their reputation much more. So they stepped down a little from that to better understand what exactly doing and being agile in the software industry meant. They have been doing better since.
Another example of such a change is the latest hitman title. One episode at a time. But man these maps are almost perfect to the details !

You're right, I have missed this one, but truth to be told no review speak about it, nor mention it...

When I look at this phone i think about that time when Razer had a razer blade with TN screen. So don't worry guys, next year the phone will improved.

There's not too much that can be improved. Best stats of any phone right now.
I will say they need to work on QC, but they still did a fine job.

Alot of good ideas, but it's still brand new and they are still changing things to make it better. But yeah, a headphone jack would be useful

Maybe they could just sell a module phone like the project Christine that never came out. If people want a headphone jack they could just pop out the usb c. Or something else for more battery.
