Alright so last year I got a new computer to replace my family's home computer which had vista on it, oh my!

But lets see how it has survived the year.
    CPU i7 4790 @3.6 GHz.
    12 GB Ram.
    Crappy Motherboard
    300 Watt power supply
    HP Case
    Crappy Fans
    Crappy Heat sink.
    2 TB HDD
    Windows 7

    Upgrades I have made.
    GTX 960
750 Watt Power Supply, 128 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD
    Windows 10.

Alright so as you can see the computer stock is awful. It gets worse however, when I tell you how much it cost out of the box, 1 GRAND.
So as you can see this is a crappy deal.

Now lets look at what a pre built off of New Egg costs.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Combo...EMC-120115-Index-_-Combo-_-Combo2599104-S1A7A

    930$ that is just crazy.

    GTX 970
    i7 4770k @ 4 GHz.
    8 GB DDR3
    1 TB HDD
    128 GB SSD
    750 Watt Power Supply
    Corsair Carbide Case
    Solid Motherboard

Alright so as you can see the Newegg PC is far greater than my build which I bought custom off of Bestbuy.com

So what I have to say, is that your computer should last at least 2 years. Treat this as a relationship; it needs to be long term! So do your research and get a gaming soul mate that you will love for 2 years. You will be so happy, and ones you start to get older just over clock, or go beast and OC that 4770k to 4.8 GHz. or 5 GHz.

    You wont regret it!

    I hope this helps!

You bought parts off best buy? Ouch, that's just painful to my ears. Best buy really has no objective other than making profit, so it would not be smart to have them assemble something you can build yourself for less. Sure, you might have some problems booting if you're new to PC building, but you sure learn quick. Yes, I speak from experience.
Anyways, now I'm curious. Are you planning to build a new machine, or limp on with the old one?

Alright so I am going to keep this computer for a year.
I plan on working and getting some $ over the summer and getting a grand and buying a Skylake DDR4 build.

Never buy pre-built or get it assembled by bestbuy or something like that. Always do research for individual components and buy from those who give you the best deal, then assemble it all yourself. You will save tons of money by doing this. Your current system doesn't looks so bad all you need is a new motherboard and cooling system. Just out of curiosity, what PSU did you buy?
