To be honest I don't want touchscreen for my monitor cuz it will get stains on it, and i dont clean my monitor often.

I'd rather have a higher quality screen that a screen with touch

you also wouldn't have a use for a touch screen on a gaming laptop like a razerblade

you couldn't play cod with a touchscreen

In this case the higher quality screen IS the touchscreen.

And it wouldn't be used to play games on haha, that'd be a challenge! More so it's used for navigation and when you're lazy and using it in bed or whatnot, as opposed to gaming :)

  9. i would be scared of the breaking glass or something that always put the cursor at the same target lol

I've been living with my Blade for almost a year now and I have to say I'm enjoying the touch screen a lot more than I thought I would. It's just very intuitive for when I'm at work and showing the boss and colleagues stuff we're working on. Being able to just simply walk around work and be able to just zoom in and out with the touch display is amazing.

Although I wish I could go back in time and made myself wait for the new 4k Blade Stealth...

Edit: Forgot to mention that the screen protector film that I've been using is great. I never see any finger prints on my screen at all.

Why would you want to have a 4K model? I know with my current laptop has 4K display at 17" and I have to use scaling to be able to use the display. I can't imagine how much I'd have to use it on a 12.5" screen. I do love the extra pixels as I us AutoDesk projects and having more room for drawing space is awesome.

And what screen protector are you using?

This is 2016. Touchscreens have been around long enough that thinking touchscreens are poorly made in this day and age is uninformed. So that's not a valid point to not like them when you clearly haven't used them.

And the touch screen is very useful for other tasks. Not all of us are pure gamers and love to use the touchscreen for navigation, zoom, scrolling, and clicking. It makes having a mouse when not gaming unnecessary. So it saves on bulk.

Yeah fair enough! I know I'll miss that functionality. It turns out I've made a bit more money than I thought I did so if I spend pretty much all of my savings I should be able to afford the Touch model of the Blade whenever it actually comes out here. Now it's just a matter of is it's QHD+ Resolution going to be odd or nah. It should be fine, yeah? It'll just scale down to something other than 1080p if I want it to be pixel perfect whilst gaming, right?

Also I'm also interested in this screen protector! Spill!

Pretty much! Touchscreens seem to have a pretty bad reputation still...but that's mainly from people who don't use them as far as I can tell? Valid concerns are the fingerprints or perhaps in this case the QHD+ vs the Matte 1080p and what you want the laptop for. I think I'm leaning towards the touch model now that I think I'll be able to afford it...but I'll have to see what exactly they do to the prices here in Australia...

To be honest, it's for the 1TB SSD more than anything. I just love the idea of having that much storage in that form factor. I do some video editing and stuff but if/when I get the Stealth + Core setup I'll be using an ultra wide for the extra screen space for when I work at home.

Resolution wise depends on what kind of games you're going to be playing. Mine is a 2015 model and it plays Dota2 perfectly fine with at max res but with Overwatch and stuff like The Division, WoW, SWTOR I've had to dial it back in some areas to keep fps on the high side.

Here's the link to the screen protector film thingy I'm using. I've had it since unboxed the Blade and it unless I really press down hard with the intention of leaving a fingerprint they just don't stick. And even then it doesn't show up as much as other types of screen protector's I've used on my previous laptops or phones.

Though I'm pretty sure if you're slightly careful and not try to use the touch screen while eating chips/crisps etc most screen protectors should be fine?

Thanks for that! I'll have to keep something like that in mind when I get mine!

I don't like getting the screens blotchy. That's my thought :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

Fair enough! The post just above though offered a great solution to that; screen protectors!

Unless it's magic screen protectors I don't think it'll help. I have a screen protector on my phone, still gets oily and blotchy and you have to wipe it.

The one I've been using is pretty good, you can still get fingerprints on it as long as you push down really hard. For the most part, if I'm just pinching zooming and stuff I don't usually leave any smudges or anything. On the other hand, the one I have on my phone is kinda crappy...

Though partly it might just be me not touching my stuff while eating snacks with my hands.

That's the thing though...I find myself eating and using the laptop a lot so.....it'll be greasy at some point and I wouldn't want to get up and wash my hands.

The other thing it could come down to as well is how naturally oily your skin is etc. All in all though the functionality is pretty useful, and touching the screen is optional!

Doesn't it get all over your keyboard and mouse then :eek_: I have to have stuff on hand if I'm eating with my hands to clean them..I don't want to make it dirty!
